Marin is a beautiful area north of San Francisco.  There are many  beautiful hikes there.  One of my favorite is a hike where you start half way up to Mount Tamapalais at the Pantoll ranger station and hike a loop down to Stinton Beach and back up to the ranger station.  This hike has every thing.   However, there are many other interesting places in Merin as you can see below (pictures from Two Lake hike etc.).

You have to climb this ladder on the way back up to the ranger station

Nice view over Marin

Another nice view over the Pacific ocean from the hike to Stinton Beach

Another view from another time I was there

Yet another view

One the way back from the beach you have to traverse this ladder.

A view of Lagunitas Lake on the "two Lakes" hike

Many interesting trees exist along the lake shore

View of Bon Tempe Lake

Another view from a high point

One side of Bon Tempe is in the forest, the other is open

Nice trees from Bon Tempe Lake

Alamere and other water falls are also in Merin - I have a special waterfall page where more pictures exist
