Garrapata State Park is situated along Highway1 just south of Carmel.  From the outside it does not look like much, but when you hike there, you are up for a nice treat.  We went there in the spring where the wild flower were still blooming.

I went to Garrapata to complete the loop that we did not finish last time.  This time in May the flowers were blooming even more, and it ended up being a strenuous hike, but also very beautiful.
