Helen, Dave (one of our good friends) and I took a trip to Tibet and Nepal in the early part of September 2007.  We started by taking the newly build train over the tundra to Lhasa (capitol of Tibet).  It was an interesting ride through areas that very few people have visited - it was also a long ride of 25 hours in the train.  The train reaches above 5000meter.  We spend a few days in Lhasa and the surrounding area.  After this we visited Mt Everest Base camp (stayed for one night).  Unfortunately we did not get a really good view of Mt Everest.  We visited during the off-season, so no one was there preparing to climb yet.

After base camp we drove to Nepal where we spent a few days in the Katmandu and the surrounding areas.
