Helen visited me during her May 1 break. We went to Death Valley and drove back via Lake Tahoe. Death Valley was very hot in May, and we even camped there. Still, it was bearable, and we had some very nice hikes there. We decided to drive to the large Sand Dunes, and that maybe not the best choice - the road a loose gravel road and was very bad and bumpy - the road is about 35 miles, and my car is a normal car rather than a SUV, so it is not ideal for these conditions. . Well, we did it, but I do not think I would do it again unless I get another car.
